Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about Amana AI, safety, pricing and how it works.
What is Amana AI?
Amana AI is a learning and family app for students in Year 1 to 12 and their parents. Students get an AI tutor that guides with questions instead of handing over answers, homework quests, a learning map of Oman, safe money-skills practice, wellbeing and faith tools. Parents get a family hub with progress, safety signals and spending controls. It works in Arabic and English, including a true right-to-left layout.
Who is Amana AI for?
Students from Year 1 to Year 12 and the parents or guardians who support them. Schools can also run Amana AI with classes, assignments and live quizzes through a school plan. Parents set up the family account and link each child, so the whole family is connected from day one.
Does the AI tutor just give my child the answers?
No. The AI Tutor is designed to guide: when a student asks a question, it usually answers with a better question, so they think the problem through. It also builds a fresh practice quiz on any topic, gives feedback on a student's own writing and uses everyday examples from Oman. Like any AI tool it can occasionally be wrong, so students are encouraged to check with a teacher or parent when something looks off.
Is Amana AI safe for children?
Safety is built around signals, not surveillance. Parents get a flag when mood check-ins trend low or a chat shows concerning patterns, but never the private message itself. Location is only captured while the child has the app open and has granted permission, and never in the background. Sharing wellbeing trends with a school is off by default, and every account can be exported or deleted. Read the full list on the safety and privacy page.
What can parents see in Amana AI?
Parents see their child's streak, XP and subject mastery, recent quiz results, attendance, merit points and teacher notes, plus a downloadable report card. They can set screen-time limits and a curfew, review age recommendations for popular apps, approve or decline money requests and pause the card. The Settings page lists exactly what Amana tracks.
Can parents read their child's private messages?
No. The chat safety monitor flags concerning patterns by category only and never shows message content. Parents are told that something needs a conversation, not what was said.
Does Amana AI work in Arabic?
Yes. The whole app works in Arabic and English with a full right-to-left layout, and you can switch language with one tap. It also includes a dark mode, extra-large text that scales the whole app, high contrast, reduced motion, dyslexia-friendly spacing and a read-aloud option.
Does Amana AI handle real money?
No. Wallet, allowance, savings goals, borrowing practice and budget challenges are simulated and parent-supervised, so children practise money habits without real funds at risk. Amana AI is not a bank and does not hold money.
How much does Amana AI cost?
The Starter plan is free (5 AI messages a day, two curriculum subjects and a basic mood check-in). Premium is OMR 1.92 per month and Family is OMR 3.84 per month for up to four children. School plans are available on request. A child's progress is never affected by the plan. See pricing for the full comparison.
Is Amana AI an official Ministry of Education product?
No. Amana AI is an independent product built in Oman. Content is organised by year group (1 to 12) and subject, and teachers can add their own classes, assignments and topics. We do not claim official curriculum accreditation.
How do schools use Amana AI?
Teachers can run classes, set assignments, host live quizzes and track a gradebook. School admins get a directory, curriculum tools, data import and integration options. Plans exist for small schools (up to 200 students), large schools (up to 1,000) and ministry or district deployments. Talk to us about a school pilot.
Is Amana AI accessible for students with disabilities?
Today the app offers extra-large text that scales the whole interface, high contrast in light or dark, dyslexia-friendly spacing, reduced motion, a read-aloud button for every page and tutor reply in Arabic or English, and screen-reader support with named controls, page landmarks, a skip link and visible keyboard focus. Next we plan to test with blind and visually impaired students on real screen readers and braille displays, and to add short signed lessons with Omani Sign Language interpreters. We have not yet tested with those users, so we are not claiming full compliance with any accessibility standard.
How do I get started?
Amana AI is preparing for launch. Join the waitlist or request a school demo and we will contact you with next steps. Once you are in, a parent creates the family account, adds each child (by creating an account or sharing a link code) and the child signs in with a simple username.
