Safety built on trust, not surveillance
What parents can see, what stays private and how you stay in control.
Amana AI is designed around signals, not surveillance. Parents are told when something needs a conversation (a low-mood trend or a concerning chat pattern) but never see the private message. Location is only captured while the child has the app open and has granted permission. Sharing with a school is off by default, and every account can be exported or deleted.

What Amana AI tracks
The Settings page in the app lists this in plain language, so families can check it at any time:
- Quiz scores and mastery, to show real academic progress.
- Daily mood check-ins and gratitude entries, to support wellbeing.
- Messages between you and your child, so the chat feature works.
- Keyword-based safety flags on a child's messages (category only, never the message itself).
- Simulated banking activity (goals, allowance, requests) for financial literacy practice.

How the AI is used
AI features (the tutor, writing and savings coaches, practice quizzes and parenting tips) send the text a person types to a third-party AI model provider to generate a reply. The AI Tutor is designed to guide students with questions rather than give answers. Like any AI, it can be wrong, so we encourage students to check with a teacher or parent when something looks off.
Money features are simulated practice. Amana AI does not hold or move real money.

Safety questions
Is Amana AI safe for children?
Safety is built around signals, not surveillance. Parents get a flag when mood check-ins trend low or a chat shows concerning patterns, but never the private message itself. Location is only captured while the child has the app open and has granted permission, and never in the background. Sharing wellbeing trends with a school is off by default, and every account can be exported or deleted. Read the full list on the safety and privacy page.
Can parents read their child's private messages?
No. The chat safety monitor flags concerning patterns by category only and never shows message content. Parents are told that something needs a conversation, not what was said.
What can parents see in Amana AI?
Parents see their child's streak, XP and subject mastery, recent quiz results, attendance, merit points and teacher notes, plus a downloadable report card. They can set screen-time limits and a curfew, review age recommendations for popular apps, approve or decline money requests and pause the card. The Settings page lists exactly what Amana tracks.
